Anime Dice Mutations

A mutation comes on the copy you roll. It is not a station where you pay to mutate a unit you already own.

What Are Anime Dice Mutations?

A mutation is a variant label on a character copy. Silver, Gold, Emerald, Diamond, Ruby and Rainbow are the six labels. The dice reveal the copy with that label already on it. Shop, the Traits station and the Grades station change other parts of a unit. The mutation is the one that came with the roll.

The label is on the copy. A Silver Naroto is not the same object as a plain Naroto, even though the character name matches. Sell checks have to happen before you junk duplicates, because the valuable part may be the variant rather than the name.

The unit card shows the mutation name next to the character. Read the Income per second on that card before you sell the copy. A Rainbow label on a weak base can still lose a pad to a plain Enol, Sakuna or Maheto.

Anime Dice Mutation List

Huge and Titanic are size labels, not mutations. A copy can be both, such as a Huge unit that is also Silver. Size and mutation are reasons to open the card. They are not a second trait slot.

Trait Rerolls do not change the mutation, and the Grades station does not change it either. Those systems edit the trait and the grade on whatever copy you select. The mutation stays the one you rolled.

How to Get Mutations

Roll. Mutations show up on the unit the dice reveal. Better dice and a higher Luck multiplier increase the quality of rolls in general. They are not a separate mutation button.

Lucky Spins, including the ones from UPDATE2, UPDATE1 and RELEASE, are extra rolls. Use them when your dice and Luck upgrades are already in a decent place, so the spin is not spent on the starter setup.

Auto sell can remove a variant if the rule is aimed only at the character name or a low odds band. Before you turn a strict auto-sell rule on, look at a few duplicates by hand and see whether Silver or larger tags are being sold with the plain copies.

Mutation, Grade and Trait

Three different things can sit on one copy. The mutation is the variant you rolled. The grade is the Income letter from the Grades station. The trait is the stat roll from the Traits station. A strong copy can have all three, and a weak name can be worth keeping because of one of them.

Compare Income per second on the card after those modifiers, not the base tier alone. The tier list ranks plain base income. A mutated starter can beat a plain unit from a higher tier. It can also be a flashy label on a copy that still earns less than the Enol or Sakuna already on the pad. The card's income number settles it.

If you decide the mutated copy is a keeper, that is the copy that gets Gems and Trait Rerolls. Do not roll those resources onto a plain duplicate of the same name just because the name matches.

Should You Keep a Mutated Unit?

Keep it when its Income per second is higher than the unit currently on the worst pad, or when you cannot yet tell and the label is one of the six above. Selling is reasonable when the copy earns less than a plain unit you already have placed and you have already read the card.

A mutation is not automatically a Tower carry and not automatically an endgame earner. Damage and Health still depend on the unit and its trait. Income still depends on the base, the grade and the cash multiplier from Rebirth.

Keep one strong copy, not every duplicate of the same label. Extra plain copies of common names can go to the Sell Units stand once the pads are full and the mutated copy is the one you equipped.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the mutations in Anime Dice?

The mutation labels agreed by current guides are Silver, Gold, Emerald, Diamond, Ruby and Rainbow. Huge and Titanic are sizes, not mutations.

How do you get a mutation?

Roll the dice. The mutation is already on the copy when it appears. Lucky Spins are extra rolls of the same kind.

Do mutations have a multiplier?

Read the Income on that copy. The card shows the mutation name, and that income number is what you compare with the unit already on the pad.

Does a trait reroll change the mutation?

No. A Trait Reroll replaces the trait. A grade roll replaces the grade. The mutation stays on the copy you rolled.
