How Grades Work in Anime Dice

A grade is an Income multiplier on one copy. Across the fully documented rows in this table, Income multipliers range from D at 1.1x to Z+ at 25x. Z is 15x, S+ is 10x, S is 7x, A+ is 4.5x, A is 3x, B is 1.6x and C is 1.2x. The same unit name can be a minor earner or a much stronger pad, depending on the letter on that copy.

Grades do not add Damage or Health. Tower performance comes from the unit, its trait, and your Damage and Health upgrades. Use Gems on the copy whose job is cash. Apply the multiplier to the copy you are holding, not only to the base-income row in the character list. Trait, size and mutation can already be on that card, so the letter changes whatever Income the copy has now.

Open the Grades station, select the unit, and roll with the Gem button. The new letter replaces the old one. Spend that roll on a unit you will still place after the next dice upgrade. A D or C on Enol is worth chasing. A Z+ on a plain Naroto is a strong multiplier on a $1/s base, and it can still lose to a plain Sakuna or Maheto. Read the copy's Income per second after the roll, not the letter alone.

Gems also come from codes. UPDATE2 includes 5 Gems, UPDATE1 includes 3, and RELEASE includes 2. Redeem the other working codes before you sit down at the Grades station. Their reward is a bundle of freebies, and the Shop button is the same one used for UPDATE2.

Which Grade to Stop On

Z+ at 25x is the highest fully documented multiplier in the current table and is an immediate keep. Z at 15x is also a strong stop for almost every long-term earner. S+ and S are stops on a long-term earner if your Gem stack is small. A+ and A are fine while you are still filling pads, and they are worth replacing later on an S-tier name.

D, C and B are not targets. They are what most rolls will show. Leave a low grade on a unit you are about to replace, and keep rolling only on the names in the tier list's S and A bands.

Roll one grade, then look at the pad. If the new Income per second beats the unit you would take off, place the copy and stop. If it does not, leave the low letter on a filler and spend the next Gems on Enol, Sakuna, Madera or Maheto.

After a grade roll, look at Income per second on the card rather than treating the letter as a trophy. A Z on a low base-income starter can still lose a pad to a plain Sakuna, Madera or Maheto. The same check applies to Z+. A 25x multiplier on a unit you are about to replace is still the wrong place for the next Gem. The letter tells you the multiplier. The card tells you the result.
